A police constable was spotted squabbling with Girjesh Goud, known as 'The Living Statue' or Golden Man at Mumbai's Bandstand, in what seems to be an alleged case of police brutality. The policeman can be seen pushing, shoving, and even beating the artist with a stick in a video that has now gone viral on social media. People on the scene, however, stepped forward to help the artist. Some witnesses even attempted to release the victim from the cop's hands and put an end to the entire issue. The incident came to light after Goud shared a video of the confrontation on his Instagram account. Goud stated on Instagram that the video was filmed at Bandra Bandstand about 8 pm on Monday. He went on to say that a "drunk" officer came up to him and assaulted him with a stick and a letter and that when he tried to stop him, he seized his neck, almost suffocating him. An inquiry is currently underway to determine if the officer was drunk. Police Brutality: Six Punjab Police Personnel, Including SP, Accused of Assaulting Lawyer in Custody.
