BJP leader and MLA Nitesh Rane, Narayan Rane's son took to social media and shared a video about the immersion of Ganpati idols using a conveyor belt. In his tweet, Rane said that using a conveyor belt for Ganpati visarjan is not called immersion. Rane also questioned the Kolhapur administration and asked, "Wo gave the right to insult our God???" On September 5, a video of Ganpati idols being immersed using a conveyor belt in Maharashtra's Kolhapur district had gone viral on social media. In the video, Ganpati idols were immersed by keeping them on the conveyor belt.
