The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and forest department in Delhi have introduced lifesize langur cutouts near G20 meeting venues to deter monkeys from entering. This innovative approach is aimed at mimicking the presence of langurs, which monkeys tend to avoid. Reportedly, officials are cautious about cutout effectiveness over time and plan to shift their positions to maintain the desired effect periodically. The cutouts have been placed along the central ridge boundary of Sardar Patel Marg and will be relocated regularly to maintain the illusion of real langurs. This initiative seeks to manage the monkey population during the G20 Summit on September 9-10. G20 Summit 2023: Delhi Police's Dog Squad Practices Detection of Dummy Explosives (Watch Video).
