The Haryana Department of Agriculture has mandated the filing of FIRs against farmers engaged in stubble burning, effective from September 15, 2024. As per a circular issued on October 17, 2024, all Deputy Commissioners and District Nodal Officers are instructed to take legal action under environmental laws. Additionally, farmers found guilty will receive a “Red Entry” in their farm records, barring them from selling crops through the e-Kharid portal for two seasons.
