The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today, September 14, said that it has shifted the Eid-e-Milad holiday from Monday, September 16, to Wednesday, September 18. This comes hours after a similar announcement was made by the Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government. "Change in Public Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act – No Transactions and Settlements in Government Securities, Forex and Money Markets on September 18, 2024," the press release stated. Earlier in the day, Maharashtra government rescheduled the Eid-e-Milad holiday in Mumbai from September 16 to September 18. The order was issued by an official notification on Friday, September 13.
