EC Suspends Announcements of Recruitment Result in Haryana Until After Assembly Elections
The Election Commission (EC) on August 21, temporarily suspended the announcement of results for ongoing recruitment processes in Haryana until the Assembly elections conclude.
The Election Commission (EC), on August 21, temporarily suspended the announcement of results for ongoing recruitment processes in Haryana until the Assembly elections conclude. This decision follows a complaint by Congress MP Jairam Ramesh alleging violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) concerning the recruitment of 5,600 constable positions in Haryana Police, 76 posts of TGT and PTI by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC), and various posts by the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC). After reviewing the complaint and consulting with the State Government, the EC determined that the recruitment processes had begun before the election announcement and were compliant with MCC regulations. However, to ensure a fair election process and prevent any undue advantage, the EC has directed that the results of these recruitments should not be disclosed until after the elections.
