A CRPF inspector was killed on Monday after terrorists attacked a patrol party in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district. The attack occurred around 3:30 pm in the remote Dudu area of Basantgarh, where a joint patrol of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the local police came under fire. The inspector, from the CRPF’s 187th battalion, was struck by a bullet and succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital. The terrorists fled after the joint forces retaliated. Reinforcements have been sent to the area, and a search operation is underway to locate and neutralise the militants. The situation remains tense as security forces continue their efforts.
