President Droupadi Murmu was warmly welcomed with a traditional Maori "Powhiri" ceremony at the Government House in Wellington on August 8 during the second leg of a three-nation tour. In addition to the traditional welcome, President Murmu was also accorded a Royal Guard of Honour. The President is scheduled to address an international education conference in Wellington, where India is the guest of honour. During her state visit, President Murmu will also have a bilateral meeting with Governor General Kiro and will also meet with Prime Minister Christopher Luxon.
