National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah was criticised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a number of journalists for his actions towards a young female journalist, which they described as 'disrespectful and disgusting'. In the video, Farooq Abdullah can reportedly be seen asking a young female reporter about her personal life when she attempts to question him on political issues. Urfana Muneer, a journalist, insists on carrying out her duty by asking questions, but Abdullah keeps probing her about her marriage, her upbringing, and even offers some unsolicited advice at the end, according to the clip shared by the BJP leaders. The reporter attempts to ask the leader a political question while obviously uneasy. When told of the reporter's brother's marriage, NC leader makes reference to the mehndi on her hands and then inquires in Kashmiri as to whether the bride would "stay with the brother or run away." Abdullah comments when the reporter informs him that she is too young to be married, saying that she should be careful about whom she marries since he may be "going out with other women."Kashmiri Pandit Killings: Farooq Abdullah Hits Out at BJP Over Normalcy Claims, Says ‘Murders Won’t Stop Until Justice Is Served’ (Watch Video).
