The Election Commission of India (ECI) has firmly rejected the Congress party’s allegations of irregularities in the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections, labelling them as “devoid of facts.” In a detailed communication to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, the ECI provided 1,642 pages of evidence to support its stance. The ECI’s response highlighted that every step of the electoral process in Haryana was conducted flawlessly and under the supervision of Congress candidates or their agents. "Authorised representatives of Congress candidates were present at all stages, including the commissioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and throughout the 7-8 days until the counting was completed, the ECI said. The Chief Electoral Officer of Haryana also dismissed all complaints from the Congress party regarding alleged irregularities. The ECI strongly cautioned against making unfounded generalisations and irresponsible allegations about EVMs. The ECI pointed out instances where the Congress party had raised concerns about routine aspects of EVM functioning or the electoral process, presenting them as new issues requiring answers. Rahul Gandhi on Haryana Assembly Election Results: Congress Will Inform ECI About Complaints Concerning Counting Process.
