The Special CP (Crime), Ravindra Yadav, revealed that the accused had a close relationship with the victim, whom he considered a father figure. However, he attempted to force a marriage, causing discomfort to the woman, who threatened to expose him to her family. On the day of the murder, the accused lured the victim to an isolated location and strangled her before hiding her body in a drain. The investigation, led by the police, successfully traced the number used by the accused, leading to the breakthrough in the case, which remained unsolved for two years.
