The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Odisha's Bhubaneswar has reportedly found itself at the center of a major controversy after a student alleged that he found a dead frog in the hostel's food. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the student said, "This is KIT Bhubaneswar, ranked ~42 among engineering colleges in India, where parents pay approx 17.5 lakhs to get their child an engineering degree. This is the food being served at the college hostel." He also shared a picture where the dead frog can be seen next to a plate inside the hostel mess. "Then we wonder why students from India migrate to other countries for better education and facilities," he asked. The incident came to light after the student reportedly discovered a lifeless frog in the hostel's food. Later, KIIT issued an official statement acknowledging the incident.
