Odisha and Andhra Pradesh were put on alert after the cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal intensified into a severe cyclonic storm. Cyclone Hamoon, brewing over the Bay of Bengal, triggered rains in several parts of Odisha and West Bengal. India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted that a few Indian states will witness some storm activities this week as the cyclone Hamoon is expected to make landfall tomorrow, October 25. "Cyclonic Storm Hamoon is likely to intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm over northwest Bay of Bengal during next 6 hours. It's very likely to move nearly north-northeastwards and cross Bangladesh coast b/w Khepupara and Chittagong around noon of 25 October as a deep depression," IMD posted on X, formerly Twitter.
