The development comes after the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that a cyclonic storm is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal by October 23 and will affect the coastal areas of Odisha and West Bengal. Besides the two states, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) of Tamil Nadu has also predicted a low-pressure area over the east-central Bay of Bengal to intensify into a cyclonic storm by October 23, which is likely to being heavy rains to several districts of the Southern state.
