Crime against doctors has been on the rise in the country after the brutal rape and murder of a junior doctor at RG Kar Hospital in West Bengal's Kolkata. In the latest incident, a woman allegedly assaulted a doctor by grabbing his collar and throwing a shoe at him while he was on duty in Karnataka. A video of the alleged assault caught on camera has also surfaced online. The 34-second video clip shows a patient's relative allegedly assaulting the doctor as hospital staff and other witnesses try to solve the fight. As the video moves further, the woman is seen throwing a shoe at the doctor and even grabbing him by his collar. As per reports, the incident occurred after an argument broke out between the government hospital staff and the patient's relatives. After the incident, doctors and staff of the Araluguppe Mallegowda District Hospital in Chikamagaluru staged a protest and shut down the outpatient department.
