The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) on Wednesday, November 6, forecasted heavy rainfall for Chennai and coastal districts of Tamil Nadu today, November 7, due to a cyclonic circulation over the south Bay of Bengal. The weather agency said that the system prevailing over the sea is triggering intense monsoon spells over various parts of Tamil Nadu for the next few days. On the other hand, the India Meteorological Department (IMD), in its weather forecast for Chennai for today, said that a fresh spell of heavy rainfall activity is likely to commence over Tamil Nadu, Kerala and south Coastal Andhra Pradesh from November 6 to November 10. Meanwhile, as per Windy Tracker, 0.2 to 1 mm of rainfall is expected in Chennai throughout the day.
