The Tamil Nadu police recently arrested six people for torturing a 15-year-old girl who was working as a domestic help and beating her to death. The incident came to light on November 1 when a complaint was received from a man named Sharfudeen about the death of the minor girl. Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case under the section of suspicious death. During the investigation, cops found that the deceased girl was from Thanjavur and had been working as a caretaker for the baby of a man named Mohammad Nishad since December 2023. It is alleged that the minor girl was tortured and branded with a hot iron and cigarette butts by a couple in Chennai. Cops also learned that injuries were found on the girl's body and that she had died on October 31 while she was being beaten up. So far, the police have arrested six people - Mohammed Nishad, Nivetha alias Nasiya, Lokesh, Jaya Sakthi, Seema and Maheshwari. Following their arrest, the accused were produced before the court and sent for judicial custody.
