The roof of a petrol station on Jones Road, West Saidapet in Chennai, collapsed on Friday evening due to continuous rainfall in the city. More than 50 firemen rushed to the scene with five fire tenders. So far, six people trapped under the rubble have been rescued safely, and the work to rescue the rest is being done intensively, the local media said. No casualties have been reported so far.
