In response, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin confirmed that the Greater Chennai Corporation has set up 329 relief camps and opened 120 public kitchens to support affected residents. "As of 9:30 am, there is no significant waterlogging in Chennai, and we are taking steps to keep the situation under control," he said, adding that corporation officials, ministers, and the mayor are actively monitoring conditions. Stalin also conducted a detailed inspection of rain preparedness at the Rippon Building with Greater Chennai Corporation officials as they continued to address the impact of the northeast monsoon rains on the city.
