Chennai: Man Sitting on Vaigai Express Footboard Gets Caught Between Train and Platform, Dies; Shocking Video Surfaces

A 24-year-old man, P Balamurugan from Cuddalore, died after falling from the footboard of the Vaigai Express at Chennai’s Saidapet railway station on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred around 2:30 pm when Balamurugan, sitting on the steps of the crowded unreserved compartment, lost his balance and fell onto platform 4. He was then crushed between the train and the platform. CCTV footage captured the tragic accident. Police recovered his body and sent it for a post-mortem examination. Eyewitnesses said Balamurugan was using his mobile phone when he slipped.
