Two people lost their lives and 29 others were injured when four coaches of the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express train derailed in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh. UP Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak confirmed the incident, stating that the injured were promptly shifted to hospitals for treatment. "The Gonda train accident is very serious. Two people have lost their lives and 29 are injured. The injured are receiving treatment at the district hospital," he said. In response to the incident, several trains on the Gonda route were diverted. Charbagh railway station in Lucknow also issued helpline numbers for passengers.
