A devotee at the Tirumala temple in Andhra Pradesh has alleged finding a centipede in the Anna Prasadam served during lunch on Wednesday. The devotee, Chandu from Warangal, claimed the insect was in his curd rice and criticised the casual response from the temple staff. He documented the incident with photos and videos and expressed concern over potential food safety risks. Chandu also alleged that staff attempted to downplay the issue and intimidate him. However, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) strongly denied the claims, calling them “baseless and false.” They said that the prasad is prepared fresh for thousands of devotees daily, and it is unlikely for such contamination to occur unnoticed. TTD suggested the complaint might be an attempt to defame the institution. Tirupati Laddu Prasadam Controversy: Ghee Supplied for Laddus Not Made at Tamil Nadu-Based Dairy, Reveals Document.
