A birthday celebration turned into a brawl at a hotel in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor on Friday night. A young man from Samna Sarai had gone to a Sheikhhan neighbourhood hotel with friends to pick up food, where they encountered a group from Mirzapur already dining. A dispute soon escalated, leading to a physical altercation with chairs and punches thrown. The incident caused a commotion, drawing a crowd and prompting police intervention. Six individuals were detained by the police. Circle Officer Anjani Kumar noted that excessive alcohol consumption appears to be the cause of the altercation, and further legal action will be taken.
