A 4-year-old girl passed away on Monday, August 28, at the Sion Hospital in the Bhiwandi city of Thane district, following a dog bite. The deceased, Laiba Sheikh, lived with her parents in the Shantinagar area. After a dog bit her face, she was initially treated at IGM Hospital and then referred to Thane Civil Hospital. Following surgery and five days of care, she was discharged but later readmitted due to worsening conditions. She was eventually transferred to Sion Hospital, where she tragically passed away. Following the incident, MLA Rais Shaikh slammed BNCMC for the incident and held them accountable for the death of Laiba. Shaikh has called for an FIR to be filed against those responsible, arguing that the girl's death should be treated as murder, not just an accident. Dog Attack in Thane: Fear Grips Saket Complex After Stray Dogs Bite 10-12 Residents, Society Members Carry Lathis for Self-Defence Against Canines; 'We Cannot Relocate the Dogs', Says TMC.
