On November 5, 2024, at approximately 4:30 PM, a shooting incident occurred on Bisalpur Road within the jurisdiction of Bhuta police station. Pushpendra alias Pushpal, son of Baburam and resident of Kharda, was riding his motorcycle when he was attacked by three unidentified assailants on another bike. The police arrived at the scene promptly and rushed Pushpendra to the hospital; however, he was pronounced dead. Senior Superintendent of Police, Barelly, conducted a site inspection with the Field Unit, Special Operations Group (SOG), and local officers. Conversations with nearby residents led to the identification of two suspects. Reports indicate that the deceased had a longstanding feud with a history-sheeter named Puranlal from the same village. This rivalry traces back to 2021 when Pushpendra's brother was murdered, a case registered under FIR No. 21/2021 at Bhuta police station, which resulted in Puranlal's brother, Pawan Kumar, being incarcerated. The trial was nearing its conclusion in court, with all witnesses having testified. The police have committed to registering a case based on any formal complaint filed by the victim's family and assured rigorous action against the perpetrators. Five police teams have been dispatched to conduct raids on the suspected hideouts of Puranlal and his associates.
