The balcony of Avadh School, in Uttar Pradesh's Barabanki, collapsed earlier on August 23, during the morning assembly, leading to injuries to around 40 students. The balcony collapsed due to overloading and led to the fall of the students from the height of the first floor of the building. The local police rushed to the scene and started rescue and relief operations. The incident created a lot of chaos and commotion in the school premises, as seen in the videos below. The injured children were taken to the hospital and are undergoing treatment. Dinesh Kumar Singh, the Superintendent of Police, said that investigation regarding the collapse is underway, and action will be taken against anyone found responsible.
