Swami Sri Govindananda Saraswati Maharaj, on Sunday, July 21, attacked Swami Avimukteshwaranand, Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath, saying he is a fake baba. "One fake baba called Mukteshwaranand is getting popular these day," Swami Sri Govindananda Saraswati Maharaj said. He also said that several people, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, touched his feet, while a businessman like Anil Ambani welcomed him to his home. Swami Sri Govindananda further alleged that people on television are giving the "Shankaracharya" tag to Mukteshwaranand; however, he is a fake, Swami Govindananda said. "He is not even deserving of adding sadhu, sant or sanyasi to his name so forget about Shankaracharya," he added. Swami Govindananda also showed what he called a Varanasi Court's order and said that a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against Avimukteshwaranand. Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee Chairman Hit Back at Swami Avimukteshwaranand on Disappearance of 228 Kg of Gold from Temple.
