Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while unveiling the BJP’s manifesto for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections 2024, declared that Article 370, which granted special status to the region, "is history" and will never be restored. Speaking at the release of the BJP’s “Sankalp Patra” on Friday, Shah said that the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019 has been widely accepted by both the people of India and Jammu and Kashmir. The elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1, 2024.
