In yet another incident of train derailment, a coal-laden goods train derailed in Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhadra district on Sunday morning. The incident occurred around 11 AM near the Shaktinagar police station area when the train was en route from the NCL Khadia project to the Anpara Power Plant. Two coal-filled wagons, along with the engine, derailed and overturned shortly after leaving the Krishnashila railway station. Authorities from the Anpara Power Plant, who arrived at the scene, attributed the derailment to soil erosion caused by recent heavy rains. Preliminary reports suggest that negligence in track maintenance may have contributed to the incident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The accident has raised concerns about the upkeep of railway infrastructure in the area. West Bengal Train Derailment: Five Wagons of Goods Train Derails in Malda District’s Kumedpur, No Casualties Reported (Watch Video).
