A group of robbers stole INR 29 Lakh from an SBI ATM in the Anantpur district of Andhra Pradesh last Saturday midnight, August, 3. The thieves, yet unidentified, targetted the SBI ATM installed in Ram Nagar area near Anantpur town. They first sprayed the CCTV cameras with black paint and disabled them, then broke open the ATM machine using a gas cutter. They fled away after stealing INR 29 lakh. It is reported that the bank officials had stacked up fresh currency notes only a day before the theft. The local Anantpur police registered a case and an investigation is underway.
