Amul on Friday issued a clarification after a video showing fungus in some packets of Amul Lassi tetra packs went viral on social media. Amul took to Twitter and in its statement called the video fake. The viral video shows a creator claiming to find fungus in some of the Amul lassi packets despite the fact that the packets were well before the expiry date. The 1-minute 23-second video clip shows a man showing the fungus present in an Amul Lassi packet. The man claims that the lassi packs by Amul contained fungus. After the incident came to light, Amul called the video fake. "We notice in the video that the packs are damaged from the straw hole area. It can also be seen in the video that liquid is leaking from this hole. Fungus has developed in these packs due to this hole which the maker of the video is most probably aware of," the statement by Amul read.
