Air India has now made it mandatory for passengers to pre-book their meals. An official notification issued by Air India said that the halal certificate will now be only for a "Muslim meal" (MOML), which will have to be pre-booked. It is also reported that Air India will stop serving "Halal" meals to Hindu and Sikh passengers with immediate effect. However, Muslim passengers or Muslims can continue to book Halal-certified MOML meals, which would be served on special request. "Pre-booked meal labelled with MOML sticker is to be treated as special meal. Halal certificate will be provided only for uplifted MOML meal. All meals on Saudi sectors will be halal and halal certificate will be provided on Jeddah, Dammam, Riyadh, Medina sectors, including Haj flights," a circular by Air India read. Air India to Stop Serving 'Halal' Meals to Hindus and Sikhs
Good news for Hindus and Sikhs. Air India will stop serving 'Halal' meals to passengers immediately. Muslims can still book Halal certified MOML meals which would be served on special request. This is logically what all restaurants and eateries across India should follow. pic.twitter.com/uIgP44LoQ3
