Former Indian captain and legendary spinner Bishan Singh Bedi passed away on Monday at the age of 77 following a long-term illness. The renowned spinner amassed 266 wickets in 67 Test matches for India between 1967 and 1979. Throughout ten One-Day Internationals, he also claimed seven wickets. Bedi was the mastermind behind a kind of revolution in Indian spin bowling history, along with Erapalli Prasanna, BS Chandrasekhar, and S. Venkataraghavan. He had a key role in India's first victory in the ODI series. He bowled with a miserly 12-8-6-1 in a 1975 World Cup encounter, holding East Africa to 120 runs. When it came to the Ranji Trophy, Bedi was a pillar for Delhi, helping the team win back-to-back championships in 1978–79 and 1980–81. In addition, Bedi became an enormous star in county cricket, participating in 102 First-Class matches for Northamptonshire and claiming 434 wickets between 1972 and 1977. Bishan Singh Bedi Dies: India's Legendary Spinner Passes Away at 77
