The National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to cancel the UGC-NET 2024 (University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test) exam conducted on June 18, citing concerns that the "integrity of the examination may have been compromised." The decision was announced on Wednesday, a day after the exam, which took place at 1,205 centers in 317 cities nationwide, with over 11 lakh candidates appearing. The NTA stated that the University Grants Commission (UGC) received inputs indicating potential compromise of the exam's integrity. "To ensure the highest level of transparency and sanctity of the examination process, the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has decided to cancel the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination. A fresh examination shall be conducted, for which information will be shared separately," the NTA said in a statement. The government has ordered CBI prove into the matter.
