Emily Gold, a 17-year-old contestant from America’s Got Talent and a high school cheerleader from California, has tragically died. Gold was found dead on State Route 210 in Rancho Cucamonga, California, on Friday, September 13. According to a California Highway Patrol officer, she was struck by at least one vehicle in the high occupancy vehicle lane of the eastbound SR-210 freeway. The CHP responded to a report of a ‘pedestrian down in lanes’. The press release stated, “The female succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” as reported by USA Today. The report further states that the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department has confirmed her identity and is investigating her death as a suicide.
