Lyricist Vairamuthu on May 29 declared that he will be returning the ONV award conferred on him. This decision comes after the committee thought of reconsidering the honour following #MeToo charges against the songwriter. Vairamuthu also added that Rs 2 lakh prize money that comes with the award will be donated towards Kerala Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund.
