Kurup: Tovino Thomas Opens Up On Portraying Chacko’s Character In Reel, Says ‘Was Emotionally Draining’ (View Post)
Tovino Thomas, who made a cameo appearance in Kurup, says “Chacko was murdered on Jan 21st, 1984, exactly 5 years before I was born. As eerie as it sounds, it felt the tale of Chacko was always destined to be said through me.”
The recently released Malayalam film Kurup has grabbed eyeballs for its impressive narrative and star cast. The film inspired by the infamous Chacko murder of 1984 and the long wanted fugitive Sukumara Kurup received positive response. Sukumara Kurup was turned into Sudhakara Kurup (Dulquer Salmaan) and Chacko became Charlie (Tovino Thomas). The latter, who had a short span of screen time, has shared a post in which he has cited how ‘emotionally draining’ it was for him to portray Chacko’s character in reel. Tovino has also revealed what convinced him to play this important character in Kurup.
