Siddique was one of the several Malayalam actors accused in #MeToo after the disclosure of Justice Hema Committee report. An actress had alleged that Siddique had raped her in a hotel room after promising her opportunities in movies.
In a major setback to actor Siddique, the Kerala High Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea on September 24 in a case where he was accused of sexual assault by an actress in 2016. According to the latest reports, Kerala Police has issued a lookout notice for the actor, and his arrest may be imminent. Reports also claim that Siddique has gone absconding with his phone currently switched off. It is said that he would be looking to seek respite from the Supreme Court, and the procedures for his next bail application at the apex court have already begun.
