Veteran Malayalam actress Neyyanttinkara Komalam, also known as Komala Menon, passed away on Thursday (October 17). The actress was 96 at the time of her demise. Komalam was admitted to a private hospital in Parassala, Kerala, on October 15 due to heart-related problems.  Komalam made her debut in 1951 in G Vishwanath's Vanamala which is regarded as the first jungle movie of Mollywood. The actress also starred as a heroine in Prem Nazir's debut film, Marumakal, in 1952. Although her acting career lasted for just four years, Neyyattinkara Komalam left an indelible mark in Malayalam cinema with her versatility.
