The Forest Department had booked a case against Mohanlal for the illegal possession of two pairs of tusks. In June 2022, the trial court had dismissed the Kerala government’s plea to withdraw the prosecution proceedings against the Malayalam superstar in the wildlife crime case. As per latest reports, the Kerala High Court has stayed trial proceedings against the 63-year-old actor for six months in the illegal ivory possession case.
