Tamil actor Karthi has publicly apologised to Pawan Kalyan following backlash over his comments about the Tirupati Laddu. During an event in Hyderabad on September 23, the Meiyazhagan actor reacted to a meme about the Laddu, saying 'Laddu's are sensitive issue' at a film event. This prompted Pawan Kalyan to express his discontent as he blasted Karthi, urging film industry figures to either support the tradition or remain silent. In response, Karthi today took to his X and wrote, “I apologise for any unintended misunderstanding. As a humble devotee of Lord Venkateswara, I deeply respect our traditions.” Pawan Kalyan is currently observing an 11-day-long prayaschitta diksha, a purification ritual. For the unversed, the Laddu controversy erupted over allegations that "non-vegetarian products" were used in its preparation during the previous Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust management.
