Thalapathy Vijay and Trisha Krishnan's blockbuster film Ghilli completed 20 years. To celebrate the occasion, the Tamil language film was re-released in the theatres. The film has now shattered all records for an Indian film at the worldwide box office. Directed by Dharani, Vijay's 2004 film was a huge success back then, and now, with its re-release, the movie has once again proved its unparalleled fan following. The film's total gross within three days crossed Rs 9 crore in Tamil Nadu, and nationwide collections now stand at Rs 10.25 crore. With that, Ghilli now joins Titanic 3D (2012, Sholay 3D (2013) and Avatar (2023) as the films that have grossed Rs 10 crore with a re-release in the country. Ghilli is the Tami remake of Mahesh Babu's Telugu film Okkadu.
