The 69th Sobha Filmfare Awards South 2024 was held on Saturday, August 3. The prestigious award ceremony brought together the biggest celebrities from Mollywood, Tollywood, Sandalwood and Kollywood. Malayalam superstar Mammootty took home the award for Best Actor for his role in Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam in the Malayalam category. The actor, who was also nominated for his role in Kaathal - The Core, took home his 15th Filmfare Award. During his acceptance speech, Mammootty thanked his director, co-stars and his team for the award; however, he made a heartfelt appeal to the people who lost their lives in the recent landslides that took place in Wayanad, Kerala. Remembering them during his special moment, Mammooty requested everyone to step forward and support them to bring back normalcy.
