Noriko Obara, renowned for her iconic role as Nobita Nobi aka Nobita in Doraemon, passed away on July 12 at 88 years old, according to Manga & Anime News. Born in Tokyo, Obara began her career in early television before making a mark as an anime voice actor. She voiced Nobita, a role she held for 26 years from 1979 till 2005, charming fans with her cute, high-pitched voice. Her extensive work also included voicing Conan in Future Boy Conan, the villain Doronjo in Yatterman, and Peter in Heidi, Girl of the Alps. In addition, Obara lent her voice to Hollywood and French film stars like Shirley MacLaine and Brigitte Bardot.
