HYBE vs ADOR Controversy: Min Hee Jin Holds Second Press Meet After Winning Injunction Against BTS’s Label, Opens Up on Future Plans for NewJeans
The last 24 hours has seen a lot going on in the ongoing dispute between HYBE and ADOR's CEO Min Hee Jin. HYBE has also fired two executives from ADOR and replaced them with three new members.
ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin held a press conference on Friday, May 31, to discuss her willingness to reconcile with HYBE. This comes after the Seoul Central District Court reportedly approved an injunction filed by Min Hee Jin. She will continue her role as CEO of the company. During the press conference, she spoke up on her future plans for NewJeans after their contract with HYBE ends. Addressing questions from the press, Min Hee Jin said, "I would like to suggest a reconciliation to HYBE. I wasn't the one who started this fight, but I am taking this opportunity to express my intention to remain at ADOR as CEO. If I were thinking only of my future, I would choose otherwise. But if I continue to work towards the plans I envisioned for NewJeans members, I do not believe that it will bring losses to anyone." With the court's recent decision, despite being an 80% stakeholder in ADOR, HYBE will not be able to process Min Hee Jin's firing as planned earlier.
