Anna Kendrick makes her directorial debut with a chilling thriller. Netflix released the first teaser for Woman of the Hour, a film based on the true story of Rodney Alcala, a serial killer who appeared on TV show The Dating Game in 1978 while concealing his dark past. In the film, Daniel Zovatto portrays Alcala, and Anna Kendrick plays Cheryl Bradshaw, the woman who unknowingly chooses him as her date. The trailer focuses on two pivotal scenes that highlight the growing tension between Cheryl and Alcala. In one scene, Cheryl, uncomfortable with Alcala's behaviour, asks a waitress to end the date prematurely. In another, she discreetly hands Alcala a fake phone number as she walks away from him in a parking lot. Woman of the Hour debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival last year. The film will premiere on OTT platform on October 18, 2024. ‘In Vogue - The 90s’: Nicole Kidman Opens Up About Body Insecurities in New Documentary Series.
