Taylor Swift announced her European tour on June 20, 2023, including her first-ever show in Vienna at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion. In August 2024, a terrorism plot targeting this concert, involving three young men was uncovered and thwarted. Following the second suspect’s arrest and confirmation of an extensive terrorist plan, the singer’s event partner cancelled the concerts indefinitely. In response to the threat, Taylor has now shared her feelings of fear and concern in an Instagram post, describing a ‘new sense of fear’. She wrote, “Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows. But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives.” She also added, “I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows.” Terror Threat Against Taylor Swift’s Vienna Concerts Leads To Show Cancellations; Refunds Announced.
