Ron Ely, most popular for his role as jungle hero Tarzan in the popular television series of the same name, passed away at the age of 86. The NBC series ran from 1960 to 1968. The news of his passing was confirmed by his daughter Kirsten through a statement. She said, "The world has lost one of the greatest men it has ever known, and I have lost my dad. My father was someone that people called a hero. He was an actor, writer, coach, mentor, family man and leader. He created a powerful wave of positive influence wherever he went."
