Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof has fled his home country just days after a court sentenced him to eight years in prison and flogging. The filmmaker has his film The Seed of the Sacred Fig in competition at the Cannes Film Festival, which starts on May 14. The filmmaker has left Iran on foot and is currently staying at an "undisclosed location in Europe" a press statement read.
