James Gunn has confirmed that a new Superman movie is part of his and Peter Safran's DC slate, which is being written by Gunn himself right now. Focusing on a Clark Kent early in his career, the head of DC Studios also confirmed that Henry Cavill won't be returning to play the Man of Steel, but have had meetings with him to explore future opportunities. Among those on the slate is Superman. In the initial stages, our story will be focusing on an earlier part of Superman's life, so the character will not be played by Henry Cavill.
